The New York City Subway is also one of the world's oldest public transit systems. Stations are located throughout the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. A demonstration for an underground transit system in New York City was first built by Alfred Ely Beach in 1869 however it took many years to make The NYC Subway system. It was not till 1904 when the first underground line of the subway opened on October 27, 1904.
